Since 1897, the DER LUDWIG team has been working together with many end customers, retailers and the catering trade to produce tasty and healthy meat and sausage products. The employees are young and dynamic and at the same time qualified and experienced enough to master the challenges of everyday work.
Dirk Ludwig began his training with master butcher Hans Jung in Schlitz in the Vogelsberg in 1990, when training as a meat sommelier did not even exist. In the meantime, the master butcher, business economist and REFA expert at the Bavarian Technical College of the Butcher's Trade teaches the prospective meat sommeliers important training issues.
In 2006, he joined the traditional butcher's shop as the fourth generation with a passion for the craft and gave Der Ludwig butcher's shop a fresh coat of paint with new ideas and innovations, thus laying the foundations for the company's future viability. In August 2014, the Steakschaft opened its doors as the world's first butchery experience centre.
