Living is increasingly moving outdoors while nature is conquering the house. Both could be seen at the last imm cologne.
Life takes place more and more outdoors today. Not only the milder temperatures are contributing to this shift. A new lifestyle makes outdoor spaces more and more homely. The increasing dissolution of the borderline between inside and outside, living and nature became clear once again at the last imm cologne.

Visionary living concept for inside and outside
The Spanish design studio MUT presented a visionary living concept at the international interior fair, with which the inside of the house is turned outside. The installation "Das Haus" showed the idea of a hybrid space at the international furnishing fair that opens up living outside. At the same time, she referred to the need for an environment as close to nature as possible, which is becoming ever stronger, especially among urbanites.

More cosiness with natural materials
The increasing connection between living and nature was also made clear by the innovations from exhibitors. Solid wood is preferred not only for outdoor furniture. Natural materials create an atmosphere of wellbeing and have ecological benefits. Natural woods are used as well as tree bark or moss. With bark and moss, entire wall surfaces can even be designed.

Flowers and plants as eyecatchers
Plants and floral motifs also make the interior design greener. Decorative elements such as planters or natural fabrics are not only beautiful to look at, but are also increasingly used as statements. The trend towards floral motifs for the design of furniture and accessories is more symbolic with regard to living close to nature. The armchair becomes a calyx and the wall wardrobe becomes a lotus flower.

Merging indoor and outdoors
Classic furniture, on the other hand, has a new edition for the terrace and balcony. New and particularly weather-resistant materials make it possible. The past spoga+gafa showed it: There are now numerous innovations even for cooking, bathing or showering outdoors. At the same time, the boundaries between living areas are becoming increasingly blurred - outdoors becomes indoors and vice versa.
