As the largest garden trade fair in the world, spoga+gafa presents the latest developments in outdoor design. One of the highlights of this year's fair is the Trendshow Outdoor Furniture & Decoration.

spoga+gafa presents a wide range of innovations for outdoor living. With the Trendshow Outdoor Furniture, which was successfully launched last year, the international garden fair looks at global megatrends that significantly influence our living environment. Following this successful premiere, the trade fair will once again focus on current design trends at the upcoming edition - this time with the addition of decoration.

Impacts of global megatrends

Derived from the global megatrends of urbanization, silver society, neo-ecology, individualization and digitization, the Trendshow in hall 10 examines current issues that are also forward-looking for the design of outdoor areas. What new solutions are there for increasing urbanization or the growing number of older people? What is the significance of sustainable products or the increasing desire for individual design for the gardening industry?

Groundbreaking products from exhibitors

Based on these significant trends, a selection of groundbreaking innovations from exhibitors on five product islands will be presented. Among the topics City Gardening, Universal Design, New Naturalness, Individualisation and Smart Design, garden furniture and decorative elements such as chairs, loungers, parasols and planters are on display. In the foreground are products that stand out for their special function, materiality or design.

Curated selection

The Trendshow was curated this year by the design office brandherm + krumrey based in Cologne and Hamburg. For the product islands, Susanne Brandherm compiled groundbreaking design from exhibitors' novelties submissions: compact and lightweight furniture for small outdoor areas such as balconies or roof terraces, products with technical features for easier handling of outdoor furniture or particularly sustainable materials.

Icons of outdoor furniture

The perfect setting for the trend show is the presentation Icons of Outdoor Furniture, also in hall 10. Here, spoga+gafa shows that it has always been a place for international product launches. The best-selling and style-defining design classics of current and former exhibitors will be presented - garden furniture, sunshades or plant pots, each of which originated in a specific era and have proven themselves in the market until today. Together with the Trendshow Outdoor Furniture & Decoration, the history and the future of international trends for outdoor design will be experienced.
