Design Gardens
"Design Gardens" – with its new key theme spoga+gafa 2025 is placing the focus on designing gardens as well as garden and BBQ products. Because design doesn't just encompass the planning and construction of outdoor areas overall. The function and form of individual garden tools, outdoor furniture, BBQs and plant products is the result of design processes. In this way, the biggest garden and BBQ trade fair in the world makes new trends and developments experienceable in a practical and manifold manner.
Dual perspective
With its key theme spoga+gafa is highlighting "Design Gardens" in two senses of the word: On the one hand it stands for the garden industry's demands in design and on the other for the products implemented in the garden. "Design Gardens" is the overall landscaping of the outdoor area as well as the selection of the appropriate plants, soils and substrates. It includes furnishing the terrace and balcony as well as selecting the right garden tool, the appropriate lighting technology or the BBQ.
A theme for all trade fair segments
On the product level, "Design Gardens" encompasses all segments of spoga+gafa. Whether plant pots, sun loungers, BBQs or lawn mowers – design unites future-looking ideas or technologies with practical design. For instance, it can lend products an attractive form, optimise the usage, increase the comfort or contribute towards saving resources. In terms of outdoor living, this is for example about practical garden tools, ergonomic outdoor furniture or the efficient irrigation of lawns and plants.
Invitation to design one's own green space
But "Design Gardens" can also be understood to be a challenge: People who have their own outdoor area, become designers themselves: Sowing flowers, shaping flowerbeds, planting shrubs and trees or furnishing the terrace and outdoor cooking area – designing a garden or furnishing a balcony entails many design decisions. spoga+gafa will present the entire spectrum of garden design from 24 to 26 June 2025. From beginner to high-end level, the latest solutions and products of the garden industry will then be presented in the Cologne exhibition halls again. Under the new key theme, topics such as functionality and efficiency, comfort, aesthetics and quality, innovation and smart technologies as well as responsibility towards users and the environment will be addressed.
